I don’t have much tea. I’ve been drinking it all day and never finish a cup. I can’t drink coffee, and I’m not a fan of those flavored coffees.
I’ve been saying for a long time now that I would never again drink or touch coffee. It’s an awful substance, and I just can’t see it being good for you.
Well, maybe not caffeine. But we could all stand to drink less caffeine. It could even be good for our health. A study has found that caffeine consumption and brain activity levels are linked. The more we drink, the more we get our brains to work. It’s the same as an exercise bike. The more you do, the more you use your brain. You don’t become as fit after just one hour of cycling.
And let’s not forget the caffeine in coffee, tea, and candy? The caffeine in coffee is the same stuff that makes us feel jittery.
All that caffeine really does is make you more alert. When you consume caffeine, your body begins to release a chemical called adenosine which triggers your brain to send electrical signals to your muscles which then contracts them. This is why most people are so fast when they walk up to the counter and buy a soda.
Adenosine is a neurotransmitter which is released by the brain when it is stimulated. We all know that the caffeine in coffee does more than that – it makes us more alert. In addition, the caffeine in tea and candy causes us to feel jittery. Caffeine also makes us more jittery because, when we consumed it, we were just as jittery. So it’s no wonder that people are so quick to buy caffeine-free drinks.
Just as caffeine-free drinks don’t make normal people jittery, caffeine-free food and drinks don’t make us jittery either. To me, the best thing to do is to eat something high in antioxidants, like berries or black beans, and drink a tea or an energizing, caffeine-free soda. It’s a no-brainer.
The problem is when we eat more than we need, we eat too much. Some people eat too much when the thought of eating something high in antioxidants makes them jittery. I would recommend eating a balanced diet of whole foods, low in carbs, low in fat, and high in antioxidants. Like I said, the best thing to do is eat something high in antioxidants, like berries or black beans, and drink a tea or an energizing, caffeine-free soda.
I was thinking about the concept of being a “skinny vegan” yesterday. As someone who eats the majority of her calories while at home, I do not have many options on the menu when it comes to salad. I’m often bored and hungry, and salad just doesn’t feel like a good option. So I’m always looking for ways to cut calories and not have to spend so much time in the kitchen.
