This tea kettle is made from old pieces of scrap metal (an iron kettle has been in the family for more than 100 years) and it was left to sit around for a few years before I finally got around to making it. I’d been curious about how it would turn out and I really liked the look of it (not the actual tea leaves inside) so I decided to make it myself.
I found that one of the hardest parts about making it was getting the tea leaves to not boil over, at the moment. I used a steel wool to scrub the sides of the kettle and then I added water as needed, though it didn’t seem to have an impact on the result.
I’ve never really been a fan of tea. I’ve always preferred coffee, tea or soda, but tea is no more pleasant on the palate. I’m still not sure if I actually like it or just think it’s gross. But if you have any tea-related questions, I’m always available to answer them.
