We would recommend a ceramic mug for these particular reasons. The ceramic is sturdy and is more likely to survive the cleaning processes. You would want to use a piece of aluminum (or plastic) liner as well. If it’s really thick enough, you may be able to get away with just using it to fill a mug.
You would need to know your mug size and shape, but you wouldn’t have to be too precise about it. You would just want to fill in the top and bottom of the mug. That way, you could fill it with a lot of different liquids and liquids would spill out all over the place.
